Hobart’s most significant Historic Convict Site

Tour the fascinating Courtrooms, Tunnels, Solitary Confinement Cells and Gallows

in this unique 1830's Convict building. 

Hear true stories of Convict history, Hobart Gaol, Supreme Court trials and grim executions.

Open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Good Friday

Please Note:-  Guided tours only

Because of steep steps and especially stairs down into the tunnels, some visitors with disabilities and in wheelchairs may have difficulties in accessing  all areas of our Historic Site

 Sunday to Friday: Tours start 10am. 11.30 am. 1pm. & 2.30pm.

Saturday: Tours start 1pm &  2.30pm only

Guided Tour duration approximately 75 minutes

Free Car parking is available off Brisbane Street (beside the red brick building)

Admission Prices:
$25 Family, including 2 Adults and  Children under 16
$12 Adult

$10  All Concessions:-

Pensioner, Seniors Card holders and Students

Auto Club cards, YHA, Hobart Red Bus passengers

$5 Child  (under 5 free)

(All prices include GST)

National Trust Members - no charge

Companion Card - no charge
